Business Health Check

Know exactly where your business stands.

A three-week diagnostic of your finances, scored area by area, with a written plan for every weakness we find.

Starting at $1,500, one-time

What it is

A three-week diagnostic, with nowhere for a weakness to hide.

Four areas of the business, each scored on its own, with no single overall grade to hide behind.

You receive a written report with the evidence behind every finding and a step-by-step action plan for each weakness. Turnaround is three weeks from receipt of your documents.

  1. Area 1

    Financial health

Profitability, margins, cash, debt, and the balance sheet.

  2. Area 2

    Operations

How efficiently the business turns work into profit: labor, costs, and capacity.

  3. Area 3

    Sales and marketing

Where revenue comes from, how concentrated it is, and how well it is priced.

  4. Area 4

    Systems, automation and risk

The books, the processes behind them, and the exposures nobody is watching.

Who it’s for

Owners about to make a big decision.

Owners of businesses with $500K to $5M in revenue, in any industry, who want an outside, honest read before making a big decision.

  • Hiring
  • Expanding
  • Raising prices
  • Borrowing
  • Selling

In your words

Sound familiar?

  • “Revenue is up, but the bank account doesn’t show it.”
  • “I’m working harder every year for the same take-home.”
  • “Nobody outside the business has ever looked at these numbers.”

The cost of waiting

The cost of not knowing.

Most problems in a business’s finances are visible in the numbers long before they show up in the bank account. The question is whether anyone is looking.

  • A blind spot that quietly costs money every month.
  • Hiring, expanding, or borrowing at the wrong time.
  • Learning about a problem only once it has become a crisis.

What changes

One honest, outside read on the whole business.

You see exactly where the business is strong and where it isn’t, area by area, measured against businesses like yours.

You get a clear list of what to fix first, and how, in order.

And you make the next big decision with confidence, because you have the full picture before you make it.

What’s included

What you get, and what it means for you.

  • Four areas, scored separatelyNo single grade hides a weak spot. You see exactly where the business is strong and where it isn’t.
  • Industry benchmarksYou know whether your numbers are normal for your industry, not just for you.
  • Evidence behind every findingNo vague opinions. Every conclusion traces back to your own numbers.
  • A step-by-step action planYou leave with what to do next, in order, not just a diagnosis.
  • A three-week turnaroundAnswers before the decision, not after it.

How it works

Three weeks, start to finish.

  1. Week 1: Documents and intake

You send a short list of reports from your accounting system and complete an intake questionnaire. We hold an interview with you about the business.

  2. Week 2: Analysis

Each area is scored against benchmarks for your industry. Every finding is tied to the evidence behind it.

  3. Week 3: Report and walkthrough

You receive the written report and action plan, and we walk through it together on a call.

Questions

Common questions

More answers on the FAQ page.

Who is the Health Check for?

Owners of businesses with roughly $500K to $5M in revenue, in any industry, who want an outside, honest read before a big decision: hiring, expanding, raising prices, borrowing, or selling.

What do I need to provide?

Standard reports from your accounting system, such as the profit and loss, balance sheet, and aging reports, plus a short intake questionnaire. You receive the full list at engagement.

What if my books aren’t clean?

Tell us on the discovery call. If the books are too far behind to support a reliable review, we’ll say so plainly and recommend a Cleanup first.

Do I have to sign up for monthly services afterward?

No. Many clients move to monthly bookkeeping or controller services to carry out the plan, but that is entirely optional.

Your numbers, held to a higher standard.

Thirty minutes, no charge. Tell us about the business and what you need from your numbers.
